Assessment Reports have been approvedThe Source Protection Committee is pleased to announce that the Ministry of the Environment has approved the three Assessment Report for our Region. Drinking Water Source Protection (SP) is a resource planning process that aims to keep sources of drinking water safe and usable.The Clean Water Act, 2006, came into effect in July 2007 and requires Source Protection Plans to be developed for watersheds in Ontario. The approval represents the culmination of four years of technical work that examined local sources of drinking water.You can view all the Report chapters and the related maps.Visit the Assessment Report page.WATERWater is critical to all aspects of our lives and it is important that we ensure there is a safe and reliable source of water for all our uses - now and in the future. Regulations also set out requirements for the Source Protection Committee and give timelines for the preparation of the terms of reference and Assessment Report.
